Camin Larredya

Jean-Marc Grussaute heads his family’s estate, Camin Larredya, located in the heart of the Jurançon appellation in southwest of France. In 1900 his family established their roots here, at first raising cattle and eventually cultivating strawberries at a commercial level. In the 1970’s Jean Marc’s father, Jean, a regional pioneer in rebuilding of vineyards in the area post phylloxera, planted 4 ha of vines along their terraced hillside and began selling grapes to a local cooperative. A young rugby star, Jean-Marc completed viticultural school in Bordeaux. After the tragic passing of his father Jean-Marc in 1988 returned to help his mother run the estate at only 20 years old; this was also the year they began bottling their wine as an estate. Jean- Marc has grown with his family’s estate. Now a beacon to the region, Jean-Marc’s dedication and hard work as a caretaker of his family’s land continues to elevate the Juraçon.
