Château Falfas

Véronique Cochran is among the pioneers of biodynamic farming in Bordeaux. The daughter of the biodynamic viticulturalist François Bouchet, Véronique’s exposure to winemaking began early on. Their family estate, Domaine du Château Gaillard, located in Saumur, has practiced biodynamic farming and winemaking since 1962, and was inherited by her older brother, Mathieu. Véronique and her late husband, John Cochran, seeking their own path, purchased the historic estate Château Falfas. Located outside the town of Bourg, Château Falfas was known for its wines as early as the 15th century and was especially popular in England, during the early years of wine exports. Upon purchase Véronique began implementing the biodynamic practices she was raised with. She continues to showcase her farming and the terroir through her distinct wines.
