Chateau La Baronne

Jean and Anne Lignères head Château La Baronne, a family run estate in the Languedoc region. Founded in 1890 by Louis Lignères, the estate has been passed down through 5 generations with-in the family. Originally only selling grapes, it wasn’t until 1970 when the estate bottled its first wine. Beginning with 35 ha, Château la Baronne’s size has grown now to 90 ha under vine. Coinciding with their growth, has been their commitment to naturally tend to their land. Certifying as organic in 2007 and biodynamic in 2012, the Lignères are also active members of the Terra Vitis association promoting sustainable wine- growing practices throughout France. Continuing the historic work of the family, Jean and Anne work to highlight the varietals and terroir of the Languedoc, expressing them authentically and thoughtfully through their wine.
