Domaine de la Roche Bleue
Sébastien Cornille was born to a family of potters near Sancerre. This Loire Valley native developed a penchant for vineyards early in life, and after studying agronomy he went on to work at a wine estate in Chavignol. Taking the opportunity to establish a vineyard in Réunion (a small volcanic island off the coast of Madagascar) Sébastien left France. After several years he returned home with the same intent. Domaine de la Roche Bleue was established in 2008, first with a patchwork of parcels in Jasnières. In the following years he continued to grow, adding vineyards in both Jasnières and Côteaux du Loir. In 2010, Sébastien embarked upon organic viticulture (certifying in 2013), and today he works organically and employs some biodynamic methods. His focus is making wines as transparently as possible, to “keep the soul of the wine, the freshness and the length...”
