Domaine Léon Boesch
Matthieu & Marie Boesch are the 11th generation to be at the helm of Domaine Leon Boesch. This historic estate was established in 1640. Located in the Vallée Noble between the small communes of Soultzmatt and Westhalten, the estate’s vineyards are sheltered by the highest peaks of the Vosges Mountains. Matthieu’s father Gerard had the forethought to purchase these hillside vineyards in the 1970s from neighboring farmers, who sought flatter vineyards more friendly to mechanized farming. In 1999 Matthieu returned to work the estate with his father, and together they transitioned into biodynamic viticulture. Matthieu also brought a new perspective to the cellar, opting for less intervention and more precision. These generational shifts have shaped the Domaine into a truly unique place, one that holds an astute sense of tradition and yet capable of evolution with the progress of time.
