Raphaël Bartucci
Raphaël Bartucci, raised in the industrial area of Moselle by Italian immigrant parents, spent summer holidays frequenting the Bugey region. On these trips he was introduced to the semi-sweet sparkling roses of Cerdon, his first noted pleasure in wine. After studying to be an electrician he desired a new direction in life, recalling the remote beauty of northern Bugey he found an old house complete with .15 ha of vines, a cellar, barrels, and a press, thus starting his life as a self-made winemaker.
1983 saw his first commercial release, producing 1,500 bottles. The estate has since slowly grown through the years, though no longer wishing to expand from its current size. Evoking a candid view of hardworking vignerons, their wines honest and sincere, a truly rare treat.
